The Cocky who Cried Dingo

This book is a retelling of the story 'The Boy who Cried Wolf' using recognisable Australian animals as the main characters. The authors have strived to make Cocky a cheeky larakin that children can identify with, to add a new level of meaning to this moral tale. This narrative is told in the third person (via a narrator), with the colourful illustrations adding support and also add a playful element that enriches the words.
This book could be used in a variety of ways in a classroom. A couple of deas are as an introduction to Australian animals or to introduce to the learners a way to speak about truths and lies and open a discussion about the topic.
