Charlotte's Web is a children's novel which follows a pig named Wilbur and his unusual friendships with a spider named Charlotte. The unusual friendship works in Wilbur's favor as by writing messages in her webs Charlotte convinces the farmer not to slaughter Wilbur for the next weeks roast. Wilbur goes on to form friendships with the other farm animals and even wins a prize at the county fair.
This book is not only enjoyable for students but it teaches them about the different types of friendship which are not necessarily normal but are rewarding all the same.
